This course is designed to develop skills in legal research, analysis, and writing, and to allow the student the opportunity to study a narrow subject in depth under the supervision of a full-time faculty member with expertise in the area. A written paper is required for satisfactory completion of this course, whether it is taken for one, two, or three hours of credit. A letter grade is given for completion of the course. The course may be taken for a minimum of two hours of credit to satisfy the writing requirement. A student must be in good academic standing and receive the permission of the associate dean for academic affairs to register for this course. 

Under no circumstances can a student elect any combination of course numbers LAW L891, LAW L893, LAW L898, or LAW L901 that would result in more than six hours. Also, under no circumstances may a student elect any combination of course numbers LAW L898, LAW L899, and LAW L900 that would result in more than six hours.
